Ready, Set, Learn at Armstrong Elementary School

Armstrong Elementary was buzzing with creativity and energy on Friday, March 6, 2026, as the school welcomed 16 young learners and their families for a Ready, Set, Learn event. The gym was transformed into a hands-on discovery space, offering a wide variety of playful learning opportunities.

The event was supported by an amazing group of community partners and school staff, including representatives from Child Care Resource & Referral, Okanagan Regional Library, and Armstrong Preschool.

One of the major highlights of the morning was Brandy’s (Armstrong Preschool) “Not a Box” building station, where children worked with cardboard, tape, tubes, boxes, and loose parts to create imaginative structures such as robots, vehicles, and towering constructions.

Children also enjoyed interactive play stations, early literacy activities, colourful sensory invitations, and chances to build, sort, and explore. Families connected with local early learning professionals, discovered helpful community resources, and spent time engaging together in meaningful, play‑based learning.

A big thank‑you goes out to all the families who attended and to our wonderful partners who helped make the Armstrong Ready, Set, Learn event such a fun and enriching experience!

Ready, Set, Learn is a free, province-wide initiative offered by our District to support families with children ages three to five. The program provides playful early learning experiences, helps children become familiar with school environments, and connects families with community partners who support a positive and confident transition into kindergarten.
